  • St. Theresa Nursery School
  • Kinoni Technical Institute
  • Kinoni Integrated Secondary School
  • Surrounding Community

We constructed a small house for the purifier and the stainless steel clean water tank against the wall of the school near to the two new 12.000 liters rainwater harvesting tanks.

In front of the rainwater harvesting tanks we constructed a stand with a small plastic tank for filling the big tanks with unclean water from boreholes or swamp sources in times of insufficient rain. The picture left shows the instruction to the Operator after installation and the first tapping of the drinking water from the outside tapThe children could not wait. We encouraged them to drink lots of safe and clean drinking water.

Finally, the Headteacher as the host signed the Donation Agreement (commitment for proper management and maintenance) and the Service Agreement (commitment for preventive maintenance trice a year) on behalf of the community.

Project Costs: Ushs 24 million, of which 17% or 4 million has been contributed by the community.
